Key Responsibilities
The Plumbing Assistant works closely with plumbers on various installation, maintenance, and repair projects. Daily tasks include preparing tools and materials, setting up work areas, and assisting in the installation or replacement of pipes, fixtures, and fittings. The assistant is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and safety at job sites, ensuring that equipment is properly handled and stored. They may also help with basic measurements, cutting pipes, sealing joints, and checking for leaks under supervision. In addition, the Plumbing Assistant assists in loading and unloading materials, organizing supplies in the company vehicle, and performing routine cleanup after each service call. Clear communication and teamwork are essential to ensure each project runs smoothly and meets customer expectations.
Qualifications
Candidates should have a basic understanding of plumbing systems or a strong interest in learning the trade. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Previous experience in plumbing, construction, or general labor is an advantage but not required, as training will be provided. The role requires good physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to follow safety protocols and instructions accurately. A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are preferred, as the position may involve travel to different job sites.
